Las Pumas refuge is the largest animal shelter in Latin America, housing big cats such as pumas and jaguars, but also monkeys, tropical birds, and others. Las Pumas rescues animals that will no longer be able to survive in the wild and gives them a home. It's also a nature lovers' paradise, with a myriad of trails to follow. After this great kickoff to your day, it'll be a quick drive to the town of Bijagua to enjoy a delicious Costa Rican lunch before entering "sloth territory."

Bijagua is a special place to observe the two different kinds of sloths in Costa Rica: both the two-toed and three-toed species. Located on the eastern slopes of the Miravalles and Tenorio volcanos, the panoramic views of Costa Rica's topography are amazing. Keep your eyes open and you could spot a plethora of wildlife in their natural habitat. This is a family friendly adventure, so bring the whole family and share this memorable experience.
