In our night or early morning expedition, we will take you to the Las Baulas National Marine Park in Playa Grande, where for thousands of years, the leatherback turtles that hatched in Playa Grande have returned to lay their eggs. Leatherback turtles are the largest marine turtles in the world, weighing approximately 1.20.0 pounds and almost 8 feet long, and one of the most endangered. Follow our knowledgeable guides around Playa Grande where you can see some of the turtles disembark to lay their eggs.
We provide transportation, pick up from a various location in Guanacaste. Your guide will meet you at your hotel or house and drive to Playa Grande. Once there your guide will show you the annual turtle migration at areas around Playa Grande giving you plenty of time for pictures and observation before heading back to your residence. Total tour time approx. 3 - 4 Hours. There are five viewing days a month during turtle nesting season please contact us to find out the optimal date for your activity.
